INVESTITURE CEREMONY : DOON PUBLIC SCHOOL

Doon Public School conducted the Students’ Council Elections for the session 2019-20 on a 3-day span in April 2019. Doon being a techno smart school, conducted the voting through electronic voting system. The Doonites cast their votes through SAS (Smart Assessment System) on Plasma Screens present in each class and thus elected their own student leaders – the Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice-Head Boy, Vice-Head Girl, Junior Head Boy, Junior Head Girl, Speaker, House Captains and the Vice-Captains of the 4 houses — Gandhi, Milkha, Raman and Tagore.

The Investiture Ceremony of the elected Students Council was held on Friday, 26 July 2019. The dignitaries were welcomed by the majestic school band through a ceremonial march with the Students Council. The badge of honour was conferred on the Students Council members by the dignitaries — the Manager – Mr. Sarat Chandran, the Vice-Principal – Ms. Malini Panikkar and the Headmistress – Ms.Vidhu Vijayan Biju. The House flags were handed over to the Captains by the House – Teachers Incharge in a symbolic gesture of entrusting the duties and responsibilities to the School Pupil Leaders.

The oath-taking ceremony was led by the Manager – Mr. Sarat Chandran, wherein our newly elected Students Council pledged to work earnestly to uphold the honour and glory of the institution. He congratulated the elected Students Council and encouraged them to pursue their duties diligently.

Doon Public School conducted the Students’ Council Elections for the session 2018-19 on a 3-day span in April 2018. Doon being the techno smart school, conducted the voting through electronic voting system. The Doonites cast their votes through SAS (Smart Assessment System) on Plasma Screens present in each class and thus elect their own student leaders – The Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice-Head Boy, Vice-Head Girl, Junior Head Boy, Junior Head Girl, House Captains and the Vice – Captains of the 4 houses- Gandhi, Milkha, Raman and Tagore.

The Investiture Ceremony of the elected Student Council was held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. The oath – taking ceremony was led by the Manager sir, Mr. Sarat Chandran .

The badge of honour was donned on the Student Council members by the dignitaries- the Manager Sir, Mr. Sarat Chandran , the Vice-Principal Ma’am- Ms. Malini Panikkar and the Headmistress Ma’am – Ms.Vidhu Vijayan Biju.

Doon Public School conducted the Students’ Council Elections for the session 2017-2018 on a 3-day span in May 2017. The Doonites cast their votes through an electronic voting via the SAS (Smart Assessment System) on Plasma Screens present in each class and thus elected their own student leaders — the HeadBoy, HeadGirl, Vice-HeadBoy, Vice-HeadGirl, Junior Head Boy, Junior Head Girl, Captains and the Vice-Captains of the 4 houses-Gandhi, Milkha, Raman and Tagore – in a most democratic fashion.

The Investiture Ceremony of the elected Student Council was held on Thursday, July 20. The oath-taking ceremony was led by Ms. Sumy Vasan Tiwari, Director – Academics.

She inspired and instilled in the students the spirit of true leadership expected of worthy citizens.
The badge of honour was donned on the Student Council members by the dignitaries — Chairman Mr. M. G. Vasan, the Manager Mr. Sarat Chandran, Director – Ms. Sumy Vasan Tiwari and the Headmistress Ms. Vidhu Vijayan Biju.

EVENT: STUDENTS’ COUNCIL ELECTION 2017
Date: 25 April 2017– 27 April 2017
Venue: Doon Public School, Paschim Vihar, New Delhi-63.

Doon Public School conducted the Students’ Council Election for the session 2017-2018 on a 3-day span. On Tuesday 25 April and Wednesday 26 April 2017, the candidates contesting for the post of Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice-Head Boy, Vice-Head Girl, Junior Headboy, Junior Headgirl and the captains of the 4 houses- Gandhi, Milkha, Raman, Tagore went on stage and gave their introduction and presented their manifesto. Then in the second round, they spoke on an extempore topic given to them on the spot. They were then made to face two Audience Questions each. The judges for the event were Mr. Sarat Chandran (Manager), Ms. Vidhu Vijayan (Headmistress) and Ms. Vijurai Francy (PGT—Economics) who short-listed the candidates for the final voting. The candidates put up their manifesto on the display boards on Wednesday 26 April 2017 and did their class-to-class campaigning, too. The Doonites cast their votes through electronic voting via the SAS (Smart Assessment System) on Thursday, 27 April 2017. The Students’ Council Election result was declared on the same day and the newly elected Students’ Council was congratulated by the school’s Director Ms.Sumy Vasan Tiwari. The ‘Investiture Ceremony’ will be in July 2017.

School Student Council

The school students council consists of the Head-Boy, Head-Girl, Vice-Head Boy, Vice-Head Girl, House Captains and Vice-House Captains (for each of the four houses), Junior Head Boy, Junior Head Girl and one Speaker. The students elect their own student leaders in a true, democratic fashion. After introducing themselves and sharing their manifestoes in the assembly, the nominated candidates have to take part in an extempore round followed by a grilling session of interjections from the floor. Then the candidates go to their campaigning from class to class. The students cast their votes through the Smart Assessment System on Plasma Screens present in each classroom. Thus, the election is conducted through electronic voting using SAS and the result is declared on the same day. Then in the investiture ceremony the oath is administered to the elected student council members and they receive their badges of honour.
